If you're considering working with an interior designer but aren’t sure where to begin, you're not alone. I’ve made my process simple, collaborative, and fun—so you feel supported and inspired every step of the way.
SECTION 1: Step-by-Step Onboarding Process
You can frame this as:
“Here’s how the process works when you work with me at Interiors by Julia:”
Step 1: Fill Out the Website Request Form
Mention where it is on your site
What kind of info you ask for (project type, budget, timeline, etc.)
Step 2: Email Follow-Up + Discovery Call
You’ll reach out personally to schedule a call
You’ll learn about their goals, style, and project needs
Mention how long it typically lasts (15-30 min?)
Step 3: In-Home Consultation
You’ll walk through their space together
Share how long it lasts, the value of it, and that it’s pre-paid
Mention what they should bring or prep
Step 4: Proposal + Timeline & Estimate
You’ll send a customized proposal with estimated hours, costs, and a general timeline
They’ll review + sign to move forward
Step 5: Project Kickoff!
You begin sourcing, planning, and executing the design
Mention your communication style (weekly updates, emails, etc.)
SECTION 2: How Clients Can Help the Process Go Smoothly
This is where you encourage them to share inspiration, be transparent, etc.
Suggested talking points:
“Send me all your inspiration—Pinterest boards, screenshots, saved Instagram posts, or even your favorite vacation photo!”
“Be open about your lifestyle and how you want the space to feel—not just look.”
“The more you share upfront, the more personal and tailored your final design will be.”
